You can export the private keys in metamask,just click the three dots at the rightside of the wallet's name and you will find the export option,along with scan with etherscan,and qr code.This is the best security you will have in your browsers and ive been using this for about a year and without any problems.It is a protection for the phishing sites,and it will give you a peace of mind in every transactions you made because your keys will be stored in metamask.

Ok, so I have to type in my password there an then the private key will export in a dokument on my computer? So after that Metamask is still aktive, nothing happens to it?

If you've saved it to your computer look at where you have saved it and you'll find it there.

Yes nothing will happen to your keys if you use metamask,after exporting you can try to logout from metamask or if you dont there will be a automatic feature that will logout your metamask after some spefic time have passed.Just be sure that your private keys are stored in a safe place like usb and do not use it in any other computer than yours.Also there is a metacert google chrome extension to protect your browser in phishing site attacks you can install it to reduce hack attempts in your computer.

additional advice from me. Do not  save your private key on PC into text file. It will stolen easily when your PC got hacked with malicious virus.
