inproving scrypt mining on gfx cards question / idea

I have been reading about peoples attempts at reprograming fpga for a couple of kh scrypt mining an it it gave me a idea

has anyone considered reprograming a gpu to make it more efficient at mining scrypt ?

( I am guessing that if it was programed just for mining it would work better as its primary programed to display gfx )
