If you're planning to spend on a regular basis go with Electrum for desktop, Mycelium for android and If you have large amounts, go with Ledger nano S or Trezor and If you're just investing for long term and you have no plans to touch your bitcoins, use a paper wallet. I suggest reading the sticky thread about wallets.

If you would like to go for a simple wallet, but great user experience and user interface I recommend Exodus (it uses the highest fees of the blockchain as well, that would translate in fast transactions)
If you want another simple wallet which is extremely easy to use, I recommend MyEtherWallet, which will allow you to store as many ERC20 tokens as you want.

You should go for hardware wallets like Trezor and Ledger Nano.

You can also try to create paper wallets. These are the safest wallets.

If you are planning to use mobile as wallet... I would suggest you to use Samurai Wallet. Currently its in Alpha stage, its Segwit compatibile(lower fees, you have awesome stealth mode) and much more. Its only for Android thou.

There is also another hardware wallet named keepkey.  I haven't used that one so I do not know how it compares to the others mentioned.

I have a Ledger Nano S and it is a solid device, it does take a little bit of a learning curve.  It only displays ~5 wallets on the LCD screen, but you can actually have quite a few of them for most of the cryptos out there. (You just remove one of the wallets on the device and reload another crypto. Your private keys for the coins/tokens are still on the device for the wallet that you remove)

You can also use MEW that holds your ERC20 tokens w/the Nano S.

It depends on which your needs are.

First question: which coin do you wanna store? Only Bitcoin?
If you need to store only Bitcoin I'd suggest Electrum. Even if it has experienced some issues recently, it still is one of the best wallets out there, simple to use and with good support.

For ERC-20 based tokens, myetherwallet is the best choice.

For multicoins you can opt for Waves for desktop, Coinomi for mobile and Trezor as hardware wallet. For daily spend Coinomi is quite good in my opinion...

I would recommend Electrum also, as many here. Its has most active development team. Its update often. Multibit is not developer as much as it should and any other don't stand out as Electrum.
