How do I tell apart scam from genuine posts?

Hi guys,

I've heard that there is much spam and scam, and that's the reason why there are certain restrictions for new members. I think many new members like me may be interested in how to tell apart a scam from a genuine quality post. What do you think? Have you been in this kind of situation? Any tips or tricks to avoid scam?

I find this topic very interesting and important. Any answer will be much appreciated.

Detecting scam projects is not as easy as reading a single page . Doing some background checks about the team behind the project,their advisors and their partners may help detect an intention to scam people only if those mentioned in the project clearly states that they dont know anything about it. Most "scam" projects just try to mimic the original one that already exists.In doing so,they copy almost everything of the main project including their facebook and twitter pages which makes you think they are the original one. The only difference occurs when they want to give out a donation address. You will quite agree with me that, one might not have the time to go into these details before venturing into a project,and this is the main reason why some 'experienced' people sometimes even get scammed. Most projects are also referred to as 'scam' simply because their project collapsed along the line,in which case i wont describe that as one. So generally, those that try to mimic other projects are the main scammers. There are other criteria for detecting scams,but these are just the basics.

Universal rule: Don't automatically believe what people are saying on the internet. Always do your own research and confirm the facts first; be thankful that we have Google for this, as it makes fact-checking a lot lot easier.

analyze projects and follow crypto experts on twitter
at the beginning focus on bitcoin ethereum or litecoin and understand everyday more cryptoworld

Yeah, a very good friend of mine told that it may be a good idea to read "Mastering Bitcoin" by Andreas Antonopoulos as an introduction to the basic concepts. I'll definitely check out JamesGDAngelo's channel. Thanks a lot!

Scams are those that post just for posting, for developing their accounts faster and not following the rules. But they are easy to detect. The posts that contain valuable information, are the ones that are not scams, but thoughts of serious forum members. Otherwise, I agree that there is a lot of scam in many forums and we all have to be careful with that!
