I invested $7,500 in the first week of January. Mix of ADA, XRP, XLM, TRON and BTC.

Knew about BTC in 2010-ish and never invested. Got sick I didn't so relented and put in $7,500 just about at the top.

Will hold but thinking I'll break even in 2021 or so.

You'll break even in a few weeks, this is my guess. Crypto markets have a really high volatiliy and this means that they do swing hard, both up and down. Just look at the history in the first months of the last few years. They do recover hard.

Do hodl mate. I understand that seeing the market as it is hurts in a way, but I also believe that if you wait long enough, you'll see some profits in the near future. Hodl strong mate, and don't give up

It seems that you bought during the peak, however, since you have already experienced it, just keep on holding on your coin because it's normal for the market to crash anytime during the year. It will surely recover, just be patient. You will break even this year if you will be patient.

We will look back on this and say wow, I invested $7500 when the market was so low. I've been in this since 2014 and pull backs are just part of the game. Key is to have patience which seems to be extremely difficult these days for a lot of people.

Glad to hear you're holding, that's the sensible thing to do now as far as I'm concerned. We just need to ride this out. Look at the whole market charts from before the big December rise. If you trace a straight line through, you get to about where we are now. Hopefully there's not too much farther to fall.

A few weeks is too short. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies have been experiencing blow after blow this past month, and even if the FUD clears, I think it will take some time for the prices to recover. Otherwise we would be left with a sudden increase like at the end of 2017, which was obviously unhealthy.

It may feel like it will take forever but how easily it can go away it come back in that same New York minute. Don't fret though we are all in a similar boat of getting rocked out of nowhere. Do practice that hodl skill though, it will go a long way!

You are already locked in with your $7500 worth of investments now half of its previous value. I am not too optimistic about bitcoin hitting $30k to $50k as others are speculating once bitcoin recovers but  I will advise you keep hodling , I am pretty sure we will return to $12k to $15k which is around the week you invested and whenyou can break even.

I don't think you'll have to hold on for that long , the market needs to recover quickly . Although the fall is very strong but I think soon all stabiliziruemost

I don't know, in my opinion anyone who buys into a market while it's at its all time high really shouldn't come on a forum to bitch, cry, or even acknowledge he's done so. What did you expect, especially after seeing how volatile bitcoin is after the Mt. Gox fiasco (or maybe you weren't aware of bitcoin's history? ).

My suggestion is to just hold on until the market rebounds, which it will.  It might take some time, and you might be in financial agony for a while, but it will.

This was to be expected, even if we are in the market of crypto, this market still follows the same rules of any other market and buying at the top is one of the worst things you can do, just look at the market today is all red, this will be the perfect opportunity for a newcomer to invest since everything is on sale, but you let your emotions take control, you will break even eventually but let this be a lesson for future trades.

Thanks Mr. Satan, very helpful. As I mentioned I was aware of btc in 2010 and yes price fluctuations. Nobody can time a market perfectly and who is to say BTC wasn't going (almost) straight to $30k? Then I would have been pissed I didn't buy when I did. Just didn't work out (so far).

I'm think my screen name will be outdated sooner or later, hopefully sooner.
