     Hello, I recently got a gaming rig and it has a GTX 1080Ti however I use it for a lot of gaming and was wondering if I mine a cryptocurrency with it if it will wear down my pc and make it slower faster.

It won't make it last longer...  I think if you keep your temperatures reasonable and don't overclock you should be fine for the regular life of the machine.  If your electricity rate is decent or you need the heat, it makes all the sense in the world to use your gaming rig to earn some coin.
