CloakCoin - Top Gaining Privacy Coin For 2018

So I was trading positions on a few coins at the end of 2017 and here early in the year when BTC price surged to $20,000 and then came back down to the $13,000 - $15,000 range for a while sending a lot of my altcoins into a tailspin. What I noticed was the "cream of the crop" of coins handled the volatility better than some of my other altcoins. While I like to play the volatility with some of my trading revenue, the majority of my portfolio is in long positions on coins that have long-term sustainability in the cryptocurrency trading marketplace. Also here of lately S. Korean regulations, SEC involvement in ETF fund proposals for cryptocurrencies, and other geopolitical factors have also affected a number of cryptocurrencies that are being traded out of these newly regulated, geopolitical environments. Watching my own personal portfolio during these announcements has made me more aware of a small group of coins, with many obvious choices for long holds like XLM, XRP, ETH, and XMR holding or increasing value in this time of BTC price volatility. The oddball that stuck out in my personal portfolio, however, was CloakCoin (CLOAK). While I had picked this coin up in a small amount when trading volatility and it was making such good gains I just couldn't let it go, however, I must admit, I did little to no research on the coin prior to buying, I simply chose it because it had a very low supply and was seeing some good volatility at the time I purchased it.

After watching the market shake up things at the end of 2017 and early 2018, I have added CloakCoin to my list of long holds and I am buying aggressively on it. While it took a little dip like most all altcoins did when BTC price took a hit, it has recovered nicely and is also one of the more highly sought after privacy coins. With government regulation almost inevitable, privacy coins will be in high demand. Cloak offers some unique features including a proof of stake consensus algorithm, offering opportunities for all CLOAK holders using a CloakCoin core wallet who leave it up and running to earn 6% annum on staking. The wallet works great, and I have sent and received coins from every exchange that CLOAK is listed on.

What also makes me big on this coin is that some of the drawbacks of CLOAK right now are actively being worked on by the team. One of the biggest problems with CLOAK not gaining more notoriety is that it isn't listed on a lot of exchanges yet. While a drawback for getting the volume to raise the price, price increases have been good at current volume levels, so this negative will be turned into a positive for early hodlers of this coin prior to new exchange listings. Also, it takes 100 confirmations for deposits to clear on some exchanges, however I think we can get these confirmation requirements by the exchanges down as CLOAK is used more for depositing funds onto exchanges, and also by presenting a third-party security audit by Cognosec which should be released here in the next few weeks as well. This report will also help with getting listed on new exchanges and also in attracting larger investors into the project. These issues have also made the development team more aware of marketing the project, and they have begun taking a more active role in getting the coin listed on more exchanges. To me, these are easy issues to fix and adds even more value to the long-term hold position on the cryptocurrency asset.
