Hello, I'm french and i just begin in mining

I try to mine ZCASH with old Nvidia GPU (9600GT). But, when i run the miner, it closes instantly. I can read before close, "Error: Cuda driver version is insufficient for cuda runtime version" ... I don't understand

I have install CUDA 9.1 and 341.92 driver

Maybe I should have install CUDA 6.5 ??

Can you help me please Huh

(Sorry for my bad english  Grin )

Matt

First of all, you should always give basic info as What OS you're using, what mining software, etc...

9600GT isn't a CUDA GPU Looked at wrong GPU. The 9600gt is far to old and has far to little ram to be useful or even capable at mining such coins at all.

I'd recommend looking for a second hand 1070 or 1060.

Then find an old version of a bitcoin miner (old cgminer maybe), and mine bitcoins with it.

Each nVidia GPU has it's own architecture : it is it's compute number.
For example, GTX 1070 is a 6.0 or 6.2 compute architecture.
Each Cuda version is compatible with only a range of compute.
Then, you have tu use the Cuda version who has the same compute compatibility of your GPU.

You will find all the compute compatibilities GPU/Cuda in the nVidia Cuda website.

the miner you use if i recall has been written for cars running compute architechture 3 or 3.5..... this means kepler (gkxxx videocards...)... you have ag94 chipset dated back 2007.... you cant run modern software because it explots hardware functions not present in your chipset... use old cgminer and run mine btc or litecoin as experiment

Oh Thx a lot for your answer !
I had not thought about the software ... I try to search more about old cgminer

I found that https://github.com/cbuchner1/ccminer/releases but i don't which release is for compute 1.1
