Hi guys,

I tried running atiflash by the gui and it did not work--said something about bad subsystem id. Recommendations on the net said to use dos utility.
So I tried command line. Before flashing I ran atiflash -i

adapter bn dn fn dID       asic           flash      romsize test    bios p/n
======= == == == ==== =============== ============== ======= ==== ==============
   0    07 00 00 67DF Polaris10       R600 SPI         10000 fail       -
   1    09 00 00 67DF Polaris10       GD25Q21B         40000 pass 113-D0500300_105

I was worried when I saw that the test failed on 0. Then I realized that card 0 has micron memory. Is this normal? Does it mean it cannot be flashed?

I've never been able to get atiflash to work with more than just the card I'm flashing installed. I know other don't have the same issue. No idea why. Just put the one card in and try the gui.

Mikcon memory is the GPU RAM ? It doesnt matter you flash spi rom is the 8 oin bios flash chip.
If you have issue only on one card it can be chip issue or vendor use write protection in scheme. Best way unsolderchip on programm on spi programmer

What card you are trying to flash with what bios ? Did you modded your own bios ? Or trying to flash with some bios you dowloaded from the internet ?
The only way you make sure you are flashing the right bios is :
Save your bios file for each cards you have , mod them , and flash back the modded bios .
If you are downloaded some junk from the internet , make sure the downloaded bios file version is the same what you have on your cards !
If you flashing the your cards with the wrong bios  , you can brick your cards !!! ROM files are not interchangeable, same cards from same manufacturer can have a different bios version / different memory ...

There is a example for a bad flash ...

Hi,

Hi,

I tried to flash the second card with my own mod''d BIOS'. It is too risky to use someone else's--I agree with you there.
I used ATIWINFLASH and it said bad system ID--I assume that means it could not flash. When I googled it on the internet the recommendation was to use command line.
That's when I got the results posted above. So can I download the BIOS using atiflash.exe, make a copy of it, mod the copy, and force the mod'd bios on the first?
Appreciate the help you guys giving me.
