Hello, world.

It seems "Satoshi Nakamoto" (SN) really just has "huh, what's that" value. I had another read of the Usenet paper and had to give the whole thing a think. First, why would someone go to the trouble of using Microsoft Word to generate LaTeX fonts? It's clear he wanted to impress plenty of smart people (including me, of course...) with his awesome typesetting skills, but when I looked at his \cases blocks and sums, I figured the whole thing was written in MathType. As if you're a master typesetter, Satoshi. As if.

Like plenty of others, I realized that bitcoin is just a huge crowdsourcing platform: people are given the bitcoin suite and are given electronic tokens in exchange for committing their computing power to what seems to be a very expensive, but straightforward attack of some computer program. The miners don't own the means of production (just like in a capitalist economy), but they probably don't care very much.

What do you hope bitcoin can give you, Satoshi?
