Altcoins are the alternative cryptocurrencies launched after the success of Bitcoin. Generally, they project themselves as better substitutes to Bitcoin.

Yeah, there are many altcoins that function better than BTC  (ltc, dgb, xvg, xlm, xrb, eth to name a few)

But BTC is still king.

Yes some altcoin was given more benefits and more profit than Bitcoin but that not mean than altcoin can pass Bitcoin easyly because Bitcoin since 2009 was created already give many adavantages to cryptocurrency community, and all blockchain technology that exist now come from Bitcoin's Blockchain.

if they project themselves as better substitutes to Bitcoin, I think this is not right. because altcoin was created to solve problems and as a solution in everyday life.

We need alternative coins in crypto world we need to diversify if we want this industry to stay. There are lots of very good alternative coins and upcoming promising ones that have great technology and because of that crypto world is here to stay. FUD (Fear Uncertainty and Doubt) will come but we are here to stay they cannot bring us down, We don't die we multiply. I just hope our market capitalization goes back to normal soon.

That is right, Altcoins depends on Bitcoin. We all know that he price of bitcoin is fluctuating, and it makes the altcoins is also fluctuating. Even though there a list of altcoins which is amazing, however it still depends on bitcoin.

I agree that altcoins are considered the alternate of bitcoin but because of the many new comer altcoins, investors maybe having hard time to look for good potential altcoins for investments. For altcoins that are new to the market, they should have to consider the following factors to become more successful like good accessibility and readily available in the general public, quick and easy transactions with tolerable transaction fees, highly secured in the sense that transactions will secure using NSA created cryptography.

yeah i agree with you
I don't understand the purpose this topic, I'm confused to answer it
whether this is a question or statement
* If a question, "does altcoin project them selves as better substitutes to Bitcoin?".
I think it has been discussed before, please check https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2599947.0
* and if a statement, all know that "Altcoin is alternative cryptocurrencies launched after the success of Bitcoin" this is not necessary discussed again

create a new topic that has not been discussed before and use search box if you are unsure !
