Only countries with poor law-enforcement will not regulate Bitcoin. Most countries in the world will end up regulating it.

If that is a news from the media, it might be wrong or over exaggerated, but if it really is true, that would be a very bad news. If most of the countries which are supporting bitcoin now ban bitcoins, it would eventually die or fall to a very low value and it won't be worth investing in anymore and so will the other coins I guess. It would be pretty sad for all of us who are interested in cryptocurrencies. I don't think there would be any reason for banning bitcoins in most of the countries, but they might  set some rules for investing/owning cryptocurrencies.

Hmm yes many countries perceive cryptocurrencies as a threat to their nation's people who invest in cryptocurencies and end up loosing everything, yes there have been many such cases.People tend to fall for scam ICOs and some invest a lot into new altcoins which may crash at any moment. Not only that country officials are also worried about taxes. So if many countries decide to ban bitcoins then it's obvious that it will crash but its very unlikely to happen.

Avoiding crypto doesn't mean it's forbidden to buy or use. Russia tried to ban bitcoin a few times in the past, with more aggresives news, but nothing happened except some FUD and a small crash. That's the same with China.

Seems like it's countries themselves that does the biggest FUD  Tongue

If most countries ban Bitcoin, users will continue to use it and trade, but of course, the price will drop much lower as the dream of a mass adoption will vanish. It will be a bit harder to enter or cash out, but using localbitcoins will never be impossible, as users to users transfers will never be forbidden.

Others platforms that allow us to directly send money will have some problems, and if using an exchange is forbidden, we could use decentralized exchanges. There will have always a solution.  Smiley

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency might go down but it is impossible to happen because bitcoin and other cryptocurrency are helpful to everyone. I think that the countries that will ban the bitcoin and cryptocurrency are the countries that does not have a good security to control all illegal activities that bitcoin will be used.

The news headline is not something that really amounts to a threat to cryptocurrency. That is a step of the central bank that is quite expected given that its position is really not a neutral one but rather on the side of the banks because as the central bank, all the rest of the banks of the country are under its policies. And cryptos are outside their power and control.

If most countries banned Bitcoin, Bitcoin will continue to survive and even grow. Bitcoin does not depend on the approval of countries but on the approval of each and every individual.

You should do a bit more effort to avoid fud news, and focus on more realistic articles instead.

Quotes from an article that can be read here.

Thailand’s financial agencies have agreed that regulators cannot stop the use of cryptocurrencies within the country. The relevant ministries will meet and discuss the regulatory framework for digital currencies and initial coin offerings, which is expected to be finalized within a month.

Thailand’s Finance Minister Apisak Tantivorawong said on Thursday that “The government will not ban cryptocurrency trading,” the Bangkok Post reported, adding that “A regulatory framework to govern digital currencies will become clearer within a month.” At the “Thailand Takeoff 2018” seminar, he emphasized:

It's clear that there are still news sites trying to make people afraid of a ban that will not even happen, just to make you sell your coins. It's time for people to do some actual research themselves instead of just blindly taking everything for granted. The sooner people know how to seperate fud from what's real, and admittedly, it's not always easy, these fud spreaders will see their practices become less effective as time goes by. Governments are aware of the fact that you CAN'T ban crypto currencies, so regulating this market is the only option left for them.

But governments can avoid bank card uses for trading on crypto sites. this can make an affect to bitcoin holders.
so there is a risk Undecided Undecided
