Credo che sia un software simile a quello usato dalle banche, solo che open source e libero.
Penso che una "controparte" nata nell'ambiente Bitcoin sia il progetto Open Transactions (ancora da completare)

C'è già qualche discussione qua sul forum, e Bitcoin è citato anche nel forum di Cyclos.
Magari sono in parte già parzialmente compatibili, ma si potrebbe spingere per migliorarne la connessione...

Eh, a tal proposito, nelle F.A.Q. si legge purtroppo:

Is it true that Cyclos4 won't be published Open Source?
Cyclos4 will be not be published on the GPL license. STRO is currently investigating with the help of the Open Source community to develop a 'fair trade' license. We can confirm at this moment that Cyclos4 will be free for organisations with a social mission and partners of STRO.

Comunque, se qualcuno avesse qualche esperienza, sarei curioso di leggere.
