Rakuten surpassed Amazon, becoming the first e-commerce company to adopt blockchain technology and pre-encrypted services.
E-commerce giant Rakuten is Amazon's biggest rival in the Japanese market. Recently, Rakuten quickly surpassed Amazon to become the first e-commerce company to integrate blockchain technology into its loyalty program. In addition, the Japanese company also launched its own codename, Rakuten Coin.
