Whats the deal with Asset Backed tokens as securities?

Hi,

Whats the situation with asset backed tokens? These would be erc20 tokens backed by real property, company earnings or stocks? In terms of category these would be "security tokens", not utility, not currency.

I know there is massive confusion due to the securities issues in the USA, but are there any "asset backed" alt-coins around the world?

The other issue is that exchanges avoid security tokens. Is that true?
