hi im bit new to bitcoins but i know alot now, my birthday is coming up in a few days and im looking to buy affordable good hardware thats under 1000$ any recommendations?

Imo the Drillbit boards are the best mining opportunity for the remaining 2013. Things change fast but this is something with proven and ongoing progress and which you can order now for probable delivery by sometime November.  A grand would get you a couple of 8-asic boards, with at least $80 change to buy a PSU or a hot meal with...

Get some USB Miners OR buy a ASIC miner on ebay!
