CryptFlix - The Netflix of Cryptocurrency

The goal of this project is to be the biggest free crypto video library out there!


I started this project because I found it difficult to explain to my girlfriend and other people around me what the heck cryptocurrencies are. People that aren't technical or excited about this new economy, have trouble understanding what blockchain, altcoins, bitcoin, wallets etc are... I don't blame them.

So, a month ago I'm watching Netflix with my girlfriend. As we're watching some cops chase a couple of bad guys, an idea popped into my head.
What If I create a website that looks and feel like Netflix but contains only videos about cryptocurrency, maybe people will like it. And understand it.

Introducing: CryptFlix

Cryptflix helps you explain to your friends, family, spouse and the mailman what the heck cryptocurrency is. And you'll learn a few things yourself.

Right now, I’m just one person and need the help of the community to make it better! I’m looking for people to give feedback, add content and become moderators on the CryptFlix.

All promotion of crypto stuff is good for whole community. I also thought after reading your title that it will be movies on demand with payment in BTC. I like the idea of FOMO calculator. This is the first time I heard about something like that, so thank you. Would like to get my hands on one which covers multiple crypto curencies -> stating to google...

I must say that this is unique idea, design is preatty good because its clean nothign to spetacular. There are not many websites that are darkish, have dark tone - you might want to add an option for users to chose between light version as well? In this case can collect users preferences from cookies by dark being default theme or something. Oh and another thing your website miss favicon icon - this is very important for building brand. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favicon

I like your site. For the people who have difficulties explaining to others what these cryptocurrencies are all about then it would be one of the sites that I would recommend because you can find information about the coins in just one place. Instead of searching for the whitepaper of the coin in their sites, I can just directly find it through your site with all the related videos. Well there is youtube but then finding almost all info in just one site is awesome. Keep up the good work mate! I like the FOMO calculator.

Really a nice project. It will be helpful for many people especially those who are new to these crypto stuff. Its really difficult to search in youtube to see videos regarding bitcoins and other altcoins. But your website brings everything infront of us in just a click. But you need to update it everyday by adding new videos.

Netflix runs on a monthly subscription model, which is funding their site. How are you going to monetize your site to pay for your expenses? <advertising?>

I am glad you decided to make it a free site, because most Crypto currency videos are basically freely available on the internet. The problem with these videos are quality. Nobody are screening and filtering the good from the bad videos at this moment and you have to rely on the "likes" they receive on Youtube. 

It will be nice to have a single repository of GOOD quality videos on one site.

I presume that you would be providing backlinks from Crypto currency videos from other hosting sites or are you going to host these videos on your site? <Speed and Copy right comes to mind>

My first impression when reading the title of this topic didn't really encompass how useful this project actually is. I like it, keep up the good work.

Good site. But the interface needs getting used to, its confusing. It might also be a good idea to arrange and filter the videos by date to know which videos are relevant in the state of cryptocurrencies today and which ones are good to store for archive purposes.

Maybe a good idea, not sure.
But please disable the option to play videos automatically when you open the website.
I hate websites that do that...
