some people say that it's going to soft fork and a3's are going to be dead. is it true or should we buy this antminer?

well that miner is set to mine on blake2b algorithm and the only coin i know that uses this algorithm is siacoin

so you need to make some calculations and see what your ROI is and if it is worth buying it to make some profit
because you will not be able to mine any other coin with that miner
