Hi! I'm kinda new here. I'd like to ask if what will happened if your ICO/Bounty you are hosting turns out to be a scam? Do you get punished by bitcointalk for hosting a scam?

If you market your project in BitcoinTalk then the owner of the account may get redTrust for advertising a scam project. That's all. In some case, it may not. It has to be noticed by the members especially the DT members.

Be happy be at peace. Looking forward to BTC at $1M

In both ways   you are the loser  . Why ?

The scam ico  get free advertising  without paying you a damm penny while you could have advertising  his scam ico for +2 months.   Ouch it hurt right ?
And in another side you risk your account in BTT to get painted red  and you may not be able to join compaigns in the future .

So  to avoid that  try to  make a deep search about the project you are joining   also about the bounty manager ..  since good managers  accept only good projects  ( you cant be sure 100 % but  at least you did your part and reduced the chance of getting scammed Wink )

I think your title is a little bit misleading, at least for me. I supposed that you are referring to what happens when you are trying to host (become a manager, and etc) a project, not promoting it.

I do believe if you participate in a scam campaign (in the middle of the process of your campaign it gets blown up), then you should leave immediately and give the manager/team the appropriate feedback.

Bitcointalk is not some kind of authority, it's just a platform for users to share information about cryptocurrencies so it could not directly punish someone, but then again it's also true that words are powerful itself SO suppose someone did such thing, then people who viewed either his profile or his project(s) will be informed of his wrong doings/incompetency resulting for people to doubt or not to put their trust on him anymore.

Oh yeah they can always create another account  Cry

If you market a scam project on bitcointalk, that might earn you a read trust. That is why it's very important to study the project very well, do enough research about the supposed project before accepting the offer.
That 'red ink' is worth avoiding, i see that as a great punishment because it can deprive you of so many things in time to come.
