I don't think the identity of the legendary Satoshi Nakamoto matters, what matters is the system that he and his group developed and building on that legacy.

It will only matter once he reveals himself. He holds a lot of coins, and his opinions will be able to sway decisions and the markets. The influence he will wield in the cryptocurrency scene will be completely unprecedented, and I wouldn't be surprised if majority of people treats him as the authority.

Until then though, his identity being unknown doesn't matter. He disappeared for a reason, and I personally think people should respect that by putting the issue to rest.
