Hi!

Your LocalBitcoins account has been permanently suspended for attempting to make or making payments on behalf of third parties. This is against our terms of service. Your Bitcoin wallet has also been frozen. Before we can unblock your wallet you will need to complete our ID verification process.

Please start by following the automatic process here: https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/identify/

... uhhhhh yeah never had an issue with that before and im pretty sure 90% of the high profile traders have a team and network of peoples 'making payments on behalf of third parties'

Hi

Our automated fraud/risk detection system flagged your account as high risk.  The flag can be caused by a number of factors.  We don’t specify what exactly caused the flag in order to allow us to remain proactive with regards to these risks.

We will require you to verify your ID. Please proceed here to do so:
https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/identification

Once you’ve verified - please reply to this support ticket and indicate you were requested to verify your ID and that it’s now completed.

Best regards,
Edgar González

This thread should be moved to service discussion thread . It is always sad to hear they work that way . I had heard once that perfectmoney had also suspended an account for money laundering . So I think cryptocurrencies are safe as long as you have got access to private keys . May I know which country you are from as alternate payment systems are performing good .

I do not know what exactly the nature of the 3rd party you used to make them close your account like this . I see they gave you time 24hr to withdraw your BTC from there , it is really a good thing ( most sites will just close and freez your asset without give you a chance to withdraw ) ! or  you did not managed to make the withdraw in time ? .

I used LocalBitcoin in past without any problem , looks like things changed there now . Anyway it looks like asking about customer ID now is a common practice in most sites . I guess that is the bad side of beginning of  regulating cryptos , just the last month I had to verify my documents in 3 different exchanges all of them are well known exchange .

So you admit you did make payments on behalf of third parties yet you come here to complain? What's the problem?

Your statements "They can and will freeze your assets" and their statement "please, withdraw your BTC within next 24 hours." are totally opposite of one another. If they give you time to withdraw your funds, it doesn't indicate any scam attempt in my opinion. If they really wanted to freeze/steal your money, they would never give you a time frame to withdraw them. There must have been some reason for what they did this as it is not a normal activity for Localbitcoins and I'm hearing this for the first time.

I'm selling bitcoins on LocalBitcoins site and I never have that problem like you. I don't get it, did you do something that is not acceptable by their ToS ?
This is first time that I heard about locking account on LocalBitcoins, so I will continue to use it because there I can see trust rate from buyer, especially for PayPal transactions.

For the record, anyone reading this, please note that the OP's experience is based on having an anonymous account that is not verified.

As an avid user of LocalBitcoins, I will easily state that I do not buy or sell to accounts that are not verified, period. And when I see a trade where they want to pay with an account that is clearly a third-party account, I cancel the trade.

OP, your actions are shady, and I support LBC on their decision to suspend your account; they want to be a legitimate P2P exchange platform, and it's users like you who tarnish their credibility as a brand/service provider.

I see nothing wrong with the way that LBC has conducted this incident.

@BTCforJoe LBC is the most useless C2C ever (It's not even P2P, it's C2C) An example of P2P is Bitcoin core which does not need any 3rd party. LBC is worst than the traditional banking system. If it has not happened to you, just wait for it to happen to you. Like the OP said. Don't put more than you can lose. What do you say about someone that has almost never used LBC before but LBC banned the account and won't release the BTC. Because the user logged in via a reported IP or previously used IP that has committed a fraud or being banned. Does that mean everyone else that uses that IP is the same person?

Saying they won't unblock the account until the user logs in from the other account it has no control over. Even as the user already sent a picture holding rubbish they asked for?

Just wait for it.
