Help!

I experimented with trying to install bfgminer on my Jupiter and succeeded. But alas when i did a reboot it doesn't respond to ping anymore and i can't access it.
The green led and red at the front is lit. No reset seems to work.

Does anyone know here how to use this:

Does anyone know how to do this the easy way. Need to get an sd card reader so i can fix this.
I definitely want my Jupiter up and running again and BFG was the way to go because it made my performance increase alot within my faulty boards.

I had this bad red light issue, too.
Solved it another way I'll describe first.

Shut miner down,
open case, disconnect all ASIC boards.
start miner, wait for red light, wait another 30sec-2min, do a reset and wait another 2-3 min
shut it down
start it (still without boards connected) and see whether it's working again

if it's now alive
 flash another firmware, shut down, restart, verify it's working, shut down, connect boards, start it and be ahppy
if not
 try another reset, and restart, if still not working proceed with sd-card zip file..



I've looked into the zip file, seems to have same contents as one of the (not mounted) devices.
guess it's the contents of Angstrom-0.97.u-boot as I remember quite the same file names from yesterday, when I mounted the firmware partition or whatever it was.

one with a working unit may figure it out this way:
mount shows a mounted persistent device, in /dev there are two other persistent devices available - one boot and one system partition.
I guess those zip-file contents have to be copied onto the system partition.

Have a close look onto the BBB, I remember a slot or sth which might contain a micro sd card; I'm currently not at home so I can't check it myself.
So it *might* be this way: pull sd-card from BBB, put into your computer and replace contents with zip file's contents, then put it back into the BBB and start the miner.

The SD card slot is empty, so it seems to store it onboard.
Maybe i need to check into how to program these boards.

There must be a guide somewhere to so i can put these files on a SD and boot it so it would reprogram the onboard chip.

Internet is too huge.

so I guess disconnecting boards and reset did not help?

the zip is not a bootable image, so it will not work the 'dd'-way i assume

edit:

call the support hotline, seems like the fastest and most secure way to do it (if you can catch them today)

Be sure and email your symptoms (and hopefully a solution to your problems) to KNC. They may not respond, but information about failures is worth it's weight in gold.

Nothing worked..

BUT! A friendly fellow at KnC forum posted a .img file of his .95 installation, that way i could dd it to a microsd card and boot from that instead.
I'm back alive and kicking again.
Still bad cores.. But soo much better than dead Juppy.

so it does boot the whole system from sd-card, right ?
then it should be easy to modify it in a way  (fstab) to have more than /config as persistent storage mounted
For ex. '/www' would be useful as it may contain web-interface modifications (bertmod) or the homedir as it would save you from adding ssh-keys each time after a reboot.

btw: wondering what happens when you flash an upgrade from a sd-card booted system - will it be written on sd-card or into onboard-storage ?

*edit:
github-src code should allow it, too - build your own firmware, by modifying knc's meta layer I guess?
..will figure it out when I have more time left
