I just saw that Tiger Woods is on the Leaderboard coming in on Sunday's Val Spar Championship (I know, I've never heard of it either but it is still a PGA tournament Wink ) and has a chance to make his 80th win on the tournament circuit.

I thought he was never going to make anymore wins to break of the old time record holder of tournament wins in the PGA ever again since he had all those toxic episodes in his life over the past 5 years with his wife chasing him with a golf club, OTC drug abuse and getting pulled over and put in a detox facility, being part of the frappening along with his then girlfriend Lindsey Vonn (she had her phone hacked into as well) and whatever else the media did not disclose in the public eye.

He has not won a tournament since August 2013.

The best to not being able to win a single tournament since then, you thought this guy's life in golf was over and done with. Undecided

I'm still in the opinion that the guy is too old. What has changed over the 5 years he has not won a tournament that would make him win this year? All that is happening is that he is getting older and older each year and he can't do anything about it. The thing is, in sports the younger players will have the better chance of winning against the older ones.
I think it's high time that he retires from the sports altogether because he hasn't been the best foe some time but it has nothing to do with his age because i see Federer winning trophies and beating far younger people than him.

To old? You do realize what sport we are talking about with the players just standing there hitting the ball. They rarely get injuries like they were sustain if they were on a court or on a pitch constantly moving putting stress on their knees and legs.
Arnold Palmer played until he was into his late 70's.
So age has nothing to do with it.
It was his back that was giving him grief (I work at a desk job and I have back problems with just sitting there Cheesy ) and he had surgery to correct that so it seems it is not longer an issue for him to get back on to the greens and win some more tournaments. Grin

Regardless of what sport, I think too that age matters. I'm not too familiar with the sport as I only know Tiger Woods. But an initial search from Arnold Palmer says his last win was in 1975 which calculates him being 46. Not sure if that was the last one since my research is just based on wikipedia. Since golf still involves a lot of movement even just for hitting a ball, its still an advantage to be young.

Arnold Palmer died late in 2016 so I must of been thinking of Jack Nicklaus because I remember seeing one of the old timers playing four or five years ago in a tournament and remembering saying to myself, this guy is still competing against these young guys and still kicking their butts. Grin

Tiger is competing in the Arnold Palmer invitational tournament this weekend.
