We will be launching Greenbacks soon, information about it will be provided in a pre-ann, at least 24 hours before launch. Our question is, when it comes to an escrow for an ICO, would you investors prefer to see it the escrow ran by a Trusted Hero Member ie: TomatoCage, or by a professional escrow service ie: btccrow? Please let us know, this coin will be just as much the communities coin as it is our coin, so we want to make sure our investors have a voice.

There is a user here who offers an escrow service, and this particular user is a real loose canon and I wouldn't trust him any further than I can throw him. Professional service indeed.

I won't be investing but I would go with a professional company. They are likely to have all the legal paperwork in order to act as an escrow. And that is important just in case an un-happy investor wants to sue.

Hoping to get a few more votes in guys. Still too close. We are thinking about an escrow from a trusted hero member, combined with a multi-sig wallet for security.

Professional escrow service is better.
Accounts on bitcointalk can be bought!

We would only used a trusted escrow member though, one of the escrow members from the official escrow thread.

Hi,

There is also this list:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=276897

Several people are on both lists.

Disclosure: I have also been contacted to provide escrow for this coin; I have done the escrow of a few other coin's initial coin offerings. I can't say anything about the success or failure of the coin itself, but the launching and escrow of all previous coins I handled have been satisfactory to both the developers and the investors.

Better use BitHalo or Blackhalo and you do not need third party escrow:

And the service could be corrupt. What is your point?
Try escrowing 100 000 BTC with them and see what happens.  Wink

Professional escrow is better , many Hero members had scammed in the past and many Hero member accounts are also sold.
