Wow. Awesome find! And I thought that Symantec Heuristic Scan was voodoo. Ok maybe I still do!

I would be interested in hearing more about how this "Sinkhole" mechanic works.

CPU Bitcoin mining has gone the way of renting DVDs at Blockbuster. I supposed the totality of 1.9 million slaves CPU mining Bitcoin would probably not be more a few terahash. At the current rate a terahash yields a little less than $500 a day.

Now if he were mining scrypt...  Roll Eyes

well if you break it down even more all that mining power is free.... probably uses 1 computer to spread all the commands, so very little effort in it,

youll probably find they use bitcoin because it is easire to run at higher speed with very little effect on the computer where scrypt mining leaves an extreme lag on anything it touches

people using GPUs in the past will have noticed this

Very true. If SHA mining is relatively unnoticeable then that is just like a bit of extra free money. He could also be merge mining Devcoin, Namecoin, and ixcoin!
