Bought my first bitcoin today - Why now?

I've been reading about bitcoins for over a year now - reading and wishing and thinking. 

I made the final leap to buy my first coin.  It's a moderate investment for a poor guy like me, but I really see value in decentralized currency.

Why now?  Because SilkRoad was giving bitcoin a bad reputation in the media, and I didn't think Bitcoin would thrive unless it was shut down.  Now that it's gone - I'm in.

Hopefully the US government will warm up to the idea of Bitcoin and now put too many regulations on its use in the USA.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi.

The US government already recognizes bitcoin as a currency, thailand has already banned it.  As you can see, I guess people would start taking sides soon, once bitcoin is out in the open.  But for now I just take bitcoin as a nice currency I play around with for fun.  Buy some stuff off bitmit.

Yea, I dont think the us government can stop bitcoin...
But as monbux said, i use it also to play around with.
