What are the current coins that are profitable on mining using CPU?
I'm currently mining ETN but no luck.

Honestly what would be the point of CPU mining? Whatever token it maybe, your electricity bills would just shoot up and there's a good chance of your PC being getting damaged due to the extensive heat if not sufficient cooling is provided. Just focus on better prospects like GPU mining (given you have a decent card), airdrops or maybe bounty campaigns for a better shot making more than obsolete CPU mining.

CPU mining only suitable for cryptonote algorithm So you can still mine: Monero Electroneum Karbo Sumokoin Bytecoin Turtlecoin https://whattomine.com/

Who would not tell you what, I think that mining has always been there and will be, Because not all coins and projects are going to be used by the POS protocol, so they are forced to use the POW protocol, which implies the availability of miners

although I really do not really understand about mining I think you should try by using techniques and knowledge quite clearly. this is important when you want to do mining. the high CPU spec is very important. looking for a lot of information and knowledge is the answer.

CPU is very important, because it will support you doing mining well. will not be slow if using CPU

There are lots of cryptocurrency that you can mine using CPU like those cryptonite based coins such as Monero, Bytecoin, Digitalnote, Electroneum, AEON, QuazarCoin etc... but I don't know if it is still profitable to mine using CPU since it is slower than any other hardwares that is being used for mining altcoins or cryptocurrency and even if your using a high end processor it will still be slower, but it can still be profitable if you have access for free electricity then go for Monero, but it is still better go for GPU mining and use mining calculator to find out what cryptocurrency will give you the most profit.

Do you know any VPS provider which allows (or at least tolerates) CPU mining? I read a post from a fellow member who had been using some Chinese VPS providers with cheap rates for CPU mining ... unfortunately, I cannot find the post again

I think that you want to mine with your computer CPU if you say that you are currently mining for ETN. It was profitable at the beginning but for a very short time. Now you could have more success mining ETN with their mobile mining app.

Question 1 - what is your hardware? Question 2 - why aren't you happy with ETN Mining? Statement 3 - do you intend to use a working/home machines for CPU mining or invest in one. Because when i am reading here about Monero and so, I am smiling - these can be profitable only with an investment in hardware. Otherwise why don't you check Koto or Arionum?

CPU mining is not profitable, not worth your time. Unless you have free CPU and free electricity.

Im pretty sure mining with ASICs is still profitable, although the upfront front cost can be pretty high.

Eth mining does not end. but profit will decrease over time. What we need to pay attention is to look for opportunities. I think you should get the right time eth.

First of all, you should probably move this post to the mining category.
However, to indulge you, you probably need to clarify what you are doing and what you hope to achieve. Are you mining with a pool? What software are you using?

No, you can't mine bitcoin with CPU it will be a total waste of time. Bitcoin is requiring now ASIC miners but before you can mine bitcoin with CPU's but everything has changed now. I do not really know about mining. but I guess you can find knowledge on Mining board (Altcoins) there is a lot of discussion about mining discussion.
Yes that board is also good for mining with altcoins. This thread is published there Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2018 and CPU Mining Guides.
