Looks like crypto fraud investigation and blockchain forensics are really trendy now. Smiley And no wonder, with so much pain caused to crypto holders by hacker attacks and scammy exchanges like Quadriga.

What I want to present for the benefit of everyone is a free blockchain investigation tool: something more advanced than an average wallet explorer, yet free and accessible, unlike professional B2B crypto forensics tools. The app is called ORS CryptoHound.

What is it good for?

Its functionality includes tracking money flows for specific addresses, visualizing token portfolios, calculating historic token values, generating bank-like statements and more. In short, a real time saver for whoever wants to interpret blockchain address data with least effort.

What functionality does it have?

  • Address Search is the first step to investigating an address, with a specific scope set through the following criteria: transaction direction (inbound/outbound/both), period (from/to dates), currency (ETH/EUR/USD), tokens (ETH/ERC20/Both) and granularity of data (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly).
  • Graph Widget allows for the viewing, expanding and exploring of the transactions and relationships of any searched addresses.
  • Balance Widget summarizes the list and total value of all tokens held over a period of time.
  • Statement Widget supports the Graph Widget by providing more details related to all incoming and outgoing transactions, with historic balances viewed in the currency of your choice (e.g. USD).
  • Portfolio Widget creates a snapshot of virtual assets held by a specific address, relative to their size.
  • ROI Widget calculates and displays the net historic values and gains/losses from the virtual assets held. ROI can be viewed in ETH, EUR or USD.
  • Transaction Hash retrieves hash data for the concrete blockchain transaction.

Any example what it can be used for?

There is a recent case study where ORS CryptoHound analysts discovered what are believed to be Buterin's wallets.
