I actually like that the crypto world is filled with innovative people who develope and test their own ideas.  Yes, the ERC20 token are all tied to Ethereum and that makes them less decentralized, but it doesn’t seem to matter.  They are testing a different model, but that doesn’t make it a scam.  No one has to buy into it.  No one is promising you great returns ...  in fact, Buterin took heat recently for warning people that returns may be “Near Zero”.  That is pretty much the opposite of what scammers do. 

Crypto would be boring if everything was a bitcoin clone.
