When I look at the FBI wallet on the blockchain it says in the top "Silk Road Seized Coins". How did that get renamed as I was unaware you could custom change that display?

What does it mean by provide a link? I just tried to "name" one of my wallets but told I had to provide a link that had my btc address on it so i chose the blockchain link to it and it refused that link. Also any idea how they verify it?

It was just weird seeing the FBI's name up their next to their wallet because as far as I knew you couldn't do it yourself.

The FBI tag links to the following: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silk_Road_(marketplace)
On that website the address 1F1tAaz5x1HUXrCNLbtMDqcw6o5GNn4xqX is mentioned.
That's what they mean when they tell you to provide a link (The bitcoin address must appear on the linked page)
Obviously the tag wasn't put by the FBI but a Bitcoin community's member.

Oh I see now. Is there any way I could name one of my wallets for a bit of fun - Maybe find a free webhost and put the address down on the page and link to it? I wondered why my link back to the blockchain wallet wasn't working..

Another thing comes to my mind: you can simply put the address in your signature and then link to that page!
That's what a lot of guys from this forum do: https://blockchain.info/it/tags?filter=2

The naming of the SR wallet was done by a community member a few days after the arrest. He/she just renamed the blockchain.info tag. Its quite possible the FBI does not even know its been labeled that way. They just keep getting free money from people who somehow think their message gets broadcast everywhere.

You can name your wallets on blockchain.info if you like and many people do. The point is for companies, important people/groups, etc. can label their address and direct you to their website or marketplace or whatever. Also if sending from one blockchain address to another you can include a message I believe. This is the benefit of online wallets.

The FBI are some crumb snatchers. I was looking at the transaction made into their wallet and half the transactions are less than 0.0001

That is really sad  Tongue
