Cryptocurrency is a very hot field today. However, it is a very new field with many people.

The way to make money from Bitcoin:

- BTC (mining): As you said if you have a good computer you can try digging. However, I advise you not to do it with a regular computer, the more money you use to fix the machine than the money you earn from the BTC. You can only make 1 miner (who specializes in digging money) if you invest in a "buffalo" with the "cage" (private room) for "buffalo" by mining really hot machine, CPU damage.

- Holder: In this way, when you find that the price of BTC is okay then buy it in cash and keep it until the price increases and then sell it.

Traditional Trading (BTC): The price of BTC varies from hour to hour, so trader is a professional who can make use of the price change of BTC to make the profit (ie buy low and sell high).

- Use BTC to invest in other coins: Currently in the market is not only BTC virtual currency but also a lot of other virtual currency and of course the price of these coins is not high as BTC Smiley. So many people use BTC to buy the coin and wait for it to rise and sell to make a profit.

If there is anything missing, expect more investors to lead.

About bitcoin mining you can't mine bitcoin with building mining rigs(CPU) or GPU because I think all pools now disable to support GPU and CPU mining.
If you heard about bitcoin mining it is not actually mining a bitcoin instead they are mining altcoin that can mine with CPU and GPU rigs and convert into bitcoin or they are using nicehash software that automatically convert your mined coins into bitcoin.

I think this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1629118.0
might help newbies in some ways.

Very useful for me. But this is a lot of people are suffering.

If these are difficult for you, you could do bounties instead. You wear signatures of projects doing ICOs here on the forum and post a certain number of meaningful posts per week to get stakes which will translate to your reward at the end of the ICO. Then you exchange these tokens fr BTC. This is an easier means. Check out the bounties section for more info.
Good luck.

In addition to Bitcoin, there are other virtual currencies such as Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), Zcash (ZEC), Dash (the secret version of Bitcoin), Ripple (XRP), Monero XMR)
However, Bitcoin continues to lead in terms of market capitalization. Many people use BTC to buy a coin and wait for it to rise and sell for profit
