Stop storing coins on any exchange. You risk losing access to your coins if they encounter operational and compliance issues. HitBTC and all other exchanges own the coins while they are stored in their system. The private keys are known to them only. Their customers only see numbers on their phone or laptop screens which represent what they own but they are just that... numbers. Nothing more. To truly say you own and have the coins, you must have them in a wallet with keys you and you alone know, own and control.
Do your due diligence before sending coins to anybody or any exchange or service. Don’t be enticed by their website’s futuristic graphics and impressive words. It’s what their developers are paid to do... create a selling product.
Everyone already knows that. How come you can do quick trades if your coins isn't on trading platforms. Anyway the main issue here is HitBTC problem in deposit and withdrawals recently.
I see some numbers of threads hitting HitBTC about that problem so maybe there is really something that is going on.
I've just recently traded around 0.07 BTC there, it's shady not a scam.
I started a withdraw attempt around 24 hours ago, usually, it's sent within an hour, but this time it took 8 hours.
Also, I paid a 0.0009 withdraw fee, so I was expecting it to confirm fairly fast, instead, they sent the transaction with a 150 sat/byte fee.
Swapping to binance.
Same. I did some withdrawals there too recently and I received the amount. My concern is, it tooks 10 hours before it was sent unlike in the past where less than hours is enough waiting time.
Bottom Line: HitBTC isn't an official scam yet as majority can still do deposit and withdraw. It's just that numbers of complaints are constantly increasing because of poor handling of their support. If anyone is planning to make deposits here, think twice. If anyone still have funds here, then they might think of migrating to other trading platforms.
