I'm watching a documentary regarding the history/origin of blockchain.  I was really intrigued of its theory that an AI is responsible for the development of bitcoin. And the most intriguing part of it, is that AI is actual using mining computation to expand their capabilities.

What do you thing about this guys? I now it is unreal or it is? but it is really intriguing.

I think you've been watching too many movies if you believe AI can do this!

How is that even possible since bitcoin is open source?

Are you referring to this person?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEWm1OOHLkw I've seen a few videos of him about this subject, but it was not a documentary.

You must be woefully ignorant of the current state of artificial intelligence to even believe that this could be remotely possible. AI struggles to understand the environment, robots can barely open a door without falling down, and chatbots are glaringly obvious. And yet you believe it's possible that an AI has manipulated the entire world for its own needs? Especially one created in 2008?

probably the OP means this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK2jkkB2yyc

It is a nice idea for a new terminator movie, and an interesting concept in general, no doubt. Definitely it is thinking outside the box.

The concept is about AI constructing Bitcoin and Blockchain in order to create the incentive for people to dedicate the enormous computing power for mining. Then, the AI would be able to live a fairly convenient living inside all that computing power.

EDIT: it is a different video than the link from the post above, much shorter, so I will leave it here. It is 8 mins.

I really feel that sathosi is a really smart and kind man with the creation of his bitcoin and chain blockchain, and this can greatly change the world's financial system, I love sathosi.

I understand the OP is not convincing that AI created bitcoin, it is more like an invitation to a game of thinking outside a box, and you must agree that the concept is very alluring. I am convinced that nobody in their right mind would say that AI created bitcoin in 2009.

But maybe I am wrong....

"AI" isnt magical. It's basically linear algebra and some statistics. "AI" is very good at pattern detection, even better than humans because they're much quicker at solving math problems. But really, they lack common sense. In the end of the day, it doesnt "understand". It only gives you the impression it does because programmers designed them to be that way. ie, Cortana, Siri,,etc.

Mate you are entering a completely different level of discussion. "Is AI able to gain consciousness?" is a profound question but I doubt that arguments you use can falsify that statement.

You know that our brains are composed of neurons and neurons connect with synapses performing only the very basic operations like the algebraic operations you mentioned. But in the end of a day every human being out there (with some exceptions) gives the impression it understands. You would not say it happens by the design of some programmers.

The problem of human awareness and consciousness is not understood either, you know, neither by biologists, nor by philosophers nor by computer scientists. But by claiming we don't understand it we by no means falsify its existence.

The moment that "design by programmers" ends and "awareness" begins is not clear, either. You know that currently AI (deep neural networks) recognizes images better than human beings? So maybe it has some level of awareness, too?

I highly doubt that the Satoshi is really a sentient AI because then Asimov's 3 laws would be broken. Not exactly all 3 laws but the second one which is precisely stating that the orders to the robotic intelligence must be given by the humans.
_______________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________
These are three laws of robotics:

A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.

These second underlined law is pointing to the fact which cannot be bypassed - Evey robotic intelligence is instructed with the specific orders that are given by a human. Maybe sometime in the future where the chaos will appear and AI rule the world this theory would be possible but today in this faulty world where we struggle with the new technologies and where we are still expanding and researching new possibilities of technology this theory cannot be confirmed. ( Because it is a false assumption !)

I don't think it's possible, Satoshi can't be AI, because the current AI is not so good.
But I think Satoshi is an American genius, but it's all speculation.

We can't really tell who Satoshi Nakamoto is. We have not enough evidence to be 100% sure. In my opinion, it is good that we don't know his real identity. Time will tell us, we have to be patient  Wink

we can tell who is the satoshi but i dont think he is an AI. but satoshi nakamoto is very intelegent person we dont know our computer will help us to be rich now by using it in mining. no one try to create a bitcoin to use as a digital currency and mode of payment.

Ehh, I'd say that in some areas we have developed pretty decent artificial intelligence, but you're right that it's nowhere near the level needed for it to be able to have developed Bitcoin.
Seems like one of the most ridiculous theories floating around the internet...

But if you look at Youtube, you see many silly conspiracies that have lots of believer, just look at the flat earth thing  Roll Eyes

I am very proud of the creator of bitcoin that uses Blockchain technology, I think it's an amazing discovery because it has a very wide influence especially with my life.

I don't think that this is true since Satoshi Nakamoto is anonymous either he uses AI but not exactly he is AI because he can also use what other campaigns or team uses now. Yes, he uses some of that I believe because he owns some of btc in his wallet if he is AI how come he will do so.

This idea would be a great science fiction story (AI Satoshi), but I don't think it is possible in today's conditions. It's not plausible.
