Twitter Inc. is joining Facebook and Google in banning advertisements for initial coin offerings and token sales on its social-media platform.

“Advertisement of Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and token sales will be prohibited globally,” a Twitter spokesperson said in an emailed statement Monday. “We know that this type of content is often associated with deception and fraud, both organic and paid, and are proactively implementing a number of signals to prevent these types of accounts from engaging with others in a deceptive manner.”

So eventually they banned it... till the last moment I hoped that it was just gossip and attempt to make the market a bit more unstable. I'm not sure about the consequences of that. Just hope for the best outcomes

They do what is more profitable and safe for them, it's obvious. Crypto community can be blamed in this situation... that part of it which loves to create scam projects, take money and disappear

That is the reason of today’s decline of a cryptocurrency. We expected more soft position from Twitter, especially, if it is remembered that Dorsey have a positive attitude to blockchain and cryptocurrencies. But the reaction of Twitter was identical with Google and Facebook. There are no more platforms where new projects can advertise themself, the last one place – bitcointalk.

No.

We expected more soft position from Twitter
Who is we? Twitter is following the same path as their fellow social media competitors.

Main reasons for social media platforms to do this;

1. Multinationals threatening to boycott social media platforms if they don't update their ad policy.
2. Social media platforms do this to avoid legal problems, because they are the one showing their users these ads.

if it is remembered that Dorsey have a positive attitude to blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
His personal preference is meaningless in this case. The shareholders decide, and with the aforementioned points in mind, they have no choice other than to do this.

There are no more platforms where new projects can advertise themself, the last one place – bitcointalk.
No need to be emo. If you seriously believe that only Bitcointalk is left, you are very short sighted, and you very much underestimate the free market nature. Other platforms will emerge and fill up the gap left by these social media giants. Bitcointalk will directly benefit from this development as well. And at the end of the day, what services did you see advertise themselves? It was 99% ICO, rogue investment platforms, cloud mining, etc. I haven't seen many actually legit advertisements in the last years.

Snapchat probably will follow the same path, I believe that this position is being adopted because of the regulation, the social networks and their owners must obey the laws and "protect" their users. In recent years the increasing number of scam ICOs have increased greatly to the point where a scammers become very wealthy just by running an ICO. it was a matter of time for such measures to be taken. Not even the crap of hyip sites does not reach the level of money that ICO scammers steal.

In general, Twitter, Facebook and Google are the followers of the governments, and the reason for all those bad decisions is the countries pressure on them. So this is a "hypocritical rhetoric" by twitter and other.

Furthermore, it is true because of all these problems, there has been a widespread crisis or big crash in the market and it is very unfortunate that many cryptocurrencies in total decline, especially the king Bitcoin.

On the other hand, despite all these decisions and attacks on cyptocurrencies, I do not think that they will achieve their goals (Elimination of Cryptocurrencies) and I am pretty sure that the market will return to the rise, just we must wait a while.

I thought Twitter's CEO was supporting cryptocurrency and now Twitter is joining forces with Facebook? Really? So, first Facebook, and then Google, and now Twitter and later instagram? Lol what are they going to achieve anyway? A slight drop of the price? It is not that these Ads are scammers. Scammers are everywhere. It is up to people. They incite to freedom of speech and now they are banning it? That is so stupid to be honest.

Fraud and illegal actions always involve cash, but no one bans cash, unlike ICOs, which do get banned.
But many developed countries can easily give up cash now and use only digital payments, the technology is advanced enough to allow it. This means that it's not a matter of those who commit fraud, but of control over the situation, especially since there are a lot of good projects in the ICO.
