Blockchain will change the eCommerce industry as it will finance and the projects bringing this to fruition coin it 'deCommerce'

If done properly, tokenizing this industry onto the Blockchain allows for many different benefits including: smaller fees from centralized 3rd parties, decentralizing 3rd party arbitration to participating users, improved affiliate marketing programs, increased asset liquidity, and even trust-less asset sharing.

The global retail eCommerce market is about a $1.95 Trillion market - $453 Billion in the US alone. Of that number, non Amazon US eCommerce is a $254 Billion market, a widely serviceable market.

Spl.yt/ is building the necessary infrastructure layer for this to be achieved, and I invite you to read the whitepaper
https://spl.yt/Documents/splyt-whitepaper.pdf and provide any comments or questions on the project and its direction.

These articles below highlight the interest for bringing Blockchain to the eCommerce industry, however they also show how early stage we are in terms of Blockchain adoption as many big name companies are testing the space with their private chains - similar to the use of intranets during the mid-90's:

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/chinese-e-commerce-giant-jdcom-launches-blockchain-accelerator/

https://cointelegraph.com/news/japanese-e-commerce-giant-rakuten-to-launch-its-own-cryptocurrency

Spl.yt on the contrary, is a public, open source infrastructure layer that uses smart contract protocols to set the stage for the deCommerce ecosystem.

I'll post updates and announcements here as they come, but will be looking for fruitful discussion. Say hi to our team on our telegram: https://t.me/splyt

There is a project called CopiCo that also use blockchain technology for their e-commerce marketplace platform. It is also masternode coin. You can buy it on cryptopia. Blockchain and cryptocurrency are very appropriate for e-commerce industry

Bitbay, Syscoin also have decentralized ecommerce platforms. Bitbay has a method of pegging the transactions to USD.

I read somewhere in the Wallstreet journal the used/second-hand market is fairly huge at $500 billion, so there is plenty of room for competitors and alternatives. Please update us on when your ICO is, would be interested in investing.

Interesting project. Are you involved/know some team members? Would be cool to set up a discussion on the different angles of approaching the eCommerce space

Sorry for the delay, had to spend some time looking into bitboost so I can respond properly. From what I gathered, bitboost is a dApp that allows for decentralized buying and selling in online marketplaces, and the privacy feature is great.

However, spl.yt differs in two key ways:

First, its providing the protocol layer for market places to build on. So any existing market place can build upon spl.yt and access smart contracts to decentralize the current process

Second, and I think bitboost attempted this but seems like they executed differently - all market participants now benefit from the decentralizing existing online 3rd party facilitators - i.e users can now make money from identifying fraud or reviewing/rating their experience. A 3rd party is no longer needed to facilitate these behaviors - this also decreases listing and selling fees (this is where all eCommerce blockchain projects are similar).

Hit me with more questions!
