Hi Forum!
I have been playing with the idea of getting a brain wallet. I visited some website earlier which could encode the private key as a list of words. I didn't quite like what I got and I wouldn't trust any site in this anyway without inspecting the code. After pondering for a second I though I should really approach this in a principled way. So I'm asking you what your experience is in creating and remembering a brain wallet. Things that concern me:
1. Which software supports brain wallets and is open source and has received some assessment? Specifically I am concerned with the quality of the method used and the quality of the random number generator for key generation. I just don't want any software which either phones my private key back or leaves a backdoor via weak or biased random number generation. I can and will Google this info anyway, but maybe somebody has already scrutinized the software.
2. What is your way of remembering the prose? After all it's just a bunch of random words. I tried to make a story out of it, but given the words there was no way for me to make up any real sentence. I don't want to wake up one day just to find myself incapable of reproducing the private key. Even though in that case I probably have enough partial information that brute-forcing the rest is feasible.
Cheers!
