I’m sure you’ve read about how AI (Artificial Intelligence) will soon be taking over many industries. And this could mean robots replacing humans. For sure, disruptive technologies such as AI will surely change work and employment. This article though, states that at least in the UK, high-end skills in engineering and software technology is enormous and will continue to grow. So great, there are skills that are safe from automation. This also means that we must constantly learn and sharpen our skills to keep up and not get left behind in the workforce.
One way to cope, as mentioned in the article, is through technology. The author suggests learning new skills via virtual and augmented realities. A mixed reality environment provides an “innovative educational tool through immersing learners in a simulated working ¬environment, enabling the learner to acquire new knowledge and skills. This level of immersion and ¬interactivity provided by VR/AR provides an engaging and effective means for learning, that cannot be ignored in any attempt to establish a future workforce for high end technology disciplines.”

So, if there’s anything new you could learn via VR/AR, what would it be? Are you ready for the age of automation?

Yeah, I have been investing my time and money on learning new things to keep up with automation.

I infact bought a 3D printer and Indoor farming machines to do a small POC at home , and to keep myself busy , and to learn what may possibly happen in future with automation .

Yes, I am willing to learn via VR or AR because I know that it will be beneficial to me in the future. I do not know what I want to learn yet, but I am definitely willing to learn more. On the other hand, I hope that AI will not replace human workers because it will definitely cause more people to lose their jobs. Therefore, unemployment rate will increase in any country that will adopt to AI workers.
