The main problem here is the irreversibility of the crypto transaction, which renders it unusable in practice. (To buy goods, I mean)

Escrow takes care of that problem quite well.

Not really no.
They buyer can reverse/charge back/scam long after you are done with escrow.

Dotto's post I quoted was about eBay accepting payments in cryptos, wasn't it?
