Hey All,

Looking for some advice on using a pool with a 500 Gh ASIC miner.  Does it make sense to join a large pool (like BTC Guild) or a smaller pool?  My gut tells me to join the larger pool and take advantage of the more hashing power, but I wonder if a smaller pool might be better off with the split when using an ASIC miner.

Thanks,
-C

The smaller the pool you go for, the better off you'll be just solo mining. For example, if you join a really small pool only generating 1gh/s or so, then you're most likely going to be the one finding all the blocks, yet a portion of that gets distributed to all the slackers. With half a th/s, I'd go with a big pool. That way you have a steady income that averages out to what you'd earn if you were solo mining.
