https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/01/ethereum-falls-on-report-second-biggest-cryptocurrency-is-under-regulatory-scrutiny.html

The founder of ETH is unpredictable and has said stupid things in the past about the ETH price and even talked about walking away from ETH.

If he reacts badly the ETH price will plummet!

This is opinion!

quote from that article. "Both U.S. commodities and securities watchdogs are questioning whether the same rules for stocks should apply to these digital currencies"

good grief. Last thing we need now is more regulation but I suspect this is going to come sooner rather than later. Surprisingly this all happened around the same time market started showing improvement.  Lips sealed

All I see in this article are assumptions and conclusions of "The Wall Street Journal", but there are no words about real government actions? Looks like FUD.

The Founder of ETH could find himself in a lot of bother if they pursue this matter on a securities basis.
It appears from the article that they believe he should have had more due dilligence before raising capital illegally.

Not familiar with US commodity and securities laws but is there any possibility these regulators can enforce penalties, or even sue people behind Ethereum for illegal IPO allegations said in the article?

It is a pity that this happens, but I think that the community's faith in the project still will not allow the project to be killed. Why do I say kill? Because I believe that the regulations that are invented by bankers, they are still aimed at killing projects that people need today.
