Am I the only person who are increasingly concerned with the IoT security threats?

The Internet of Things (IoT) has become an everyday reality of the world, Microsoft Corporation has just announced it will invest US$4.95bn into IoT over a span of four years. As the spending on IoT solutions growing rapidly, shouldn’t we focus more on how the manufacturers are going to standardize their IoT solutions?

Everyone knows that with so many ICOs and projects on the market, it's really difficult not to get lost.
Information becomes a real value. Would you guys like to share me some ideas about where do you usually look for such information: some listings, websites or your own research?
Share you thoughts on this please!

IoT is not as widely spread yet as you western guys would think.

Yes, IoT is vulnerable.
Yes, there's a chance that my TV is already mining for some smart kids.
And yes, IoT is deployed without a good thought on security and without proper testing.

But this goes on with everything. We are the buyers, we are the testers. In a couple of years the main issues will be ironed out and we can start buying the newer and safer versions of those products.
All we need is to have patience and keep buying Smiley

You're not the only one concerned about this. But you also have to give it a thought and don't get too paranoid.

This is a very common topic, if everything is connected, everything is a potential security threat. Just think of a Stephen King style situation of all your household items attacking you and your car killing people around.

Don't be afraid to your security by this so called IoT because you are just making an assumptions out of it maybe because of too much watching YouTube videos about conspiracy theories  Grin

Mark Zuckerberg was interviewed by the senators of the USA regarding the issues of Facebook and its data-privacy policies, the users of Facebook agreed to its terms before registration though so the users has the full discretion about this matter just like this IoT thing. If you are worrying on something then just simply don't buy or support it at all.

Everyone is talking about the benefits of IoT of course but it is important to look at both pros and cons of the side. It might be a huge privacy issue in the future, who knows.
