Lately a few escort business and sex workers have been revealing that they accept cryptocurrencies for sexual services. Now the well-known Bunny Ranch, a legal bordello owned by Dennis Hof is accepting bitcoin. The brothel’s location is in the state of Nevada, which allows legal prostitution as long as it is outside the jurisdiction of Las Vegas. The Bunny Ranch is a pretty popular destination on the outskirts of Carson City, and Dennis Hof and the brothel girls have been filmed on multiple occasions for the HBO documentary ‘Cathouse.’

Good, bad, indifferent, all new media technologies seem to go through sex industry prior to being massively accepted into the culture.
VHS beat out Sony Beta because Sony refused to put porn on it.
AT&T's cable service carried so much porn, they stayed out of making any official comments regarding porn.
Internet's bandwidth grew on top of the porn demand.

Now Bitcoin.  Thought it is not a media technology, it does enable the exchange of media, in this case experience.  Will it make as big a difference as acceptance between VHS & Beta?  I don't think so as not accepting Bitcoin isn't going to kill off others as quickly as Beta.  But the acceptance of Bitcoin would increase at much greater rate once people start to use it much more.
