How did these scammers acquire my email address?

Received this email (claiming to be) from this forum-

That is the lamest, cheesiest, scam I have ever seen.
I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to fall for it, but thanks for your warning nonetheless.

So every members email is accessible to spam & scams.

How does one change there email adress.

Oh what great privacy. Geez!  One would think administrators could do a better job at protecting its members information

Your Email address is only visible since you did not check "hide email address from public" in the account related settings.
Your privacy is primarily your own responsibility, the forum has settings which make reasonable privacy possible, you just need to use them.
