False positive. Many trojans include mining software to use its hosts hardware. If you downloaded it from the official github repository of course!

If you are new with mining you should check out GUIMiner. It includes CGMiner and many other miners, but it is a lot easier to set up since it comes with a GUI.

Yup, it also reports my old phoenix miner and my old CPU miners. Had to delete it, I dont need these miners anymore  Smiley

I guess that you 've downloaded it from it's original source right? If so then it's a false alarm.
Personally i haven't had any problems with cgminer and avast although i 'm running an older version.

I don't think cgminer has any trojans (if it's the real copy) ,it uses your hardware and since allot of  new malware's use bitcoin mining.  the codes are suspected.
