Hello all,

As you can see I am completely new to this forum. However, I have been looking around a bit, started an account on cryptsy and though maybe to start playing around with some alt currencies.

What is the best wat to keep my investments safe? What would you advise about spreading my investments? Can I mine alt crypto's myself? I have an I7 mobile processor CPU from the second generation and a Mobile GPU from Nvidia (540m)... is there any options for me?

Well since you can't do any serious mining with your nvidia card (nvidias sucks for gpu minint) you may try primecoin. Afaik you can only cpu mine primecoins and your i7 is a strong cpu, although it seems that you are on a laptop so in the end even that is a bad idea. Your laptop will probably melt or something
