Chinese get their paychecks 1st of the month?

Is it true that people in China typically get their salaries paid the 1st of the month?

(Because in that case, we're in for a ride )

Not sure, but in the UK / US that is often the case (end of the month, or beginning of the month).

And since this month that falls on a weekend, many banks wont clear it until Monday.

So the fun starts next week

In the US people have had money they've been waiting for since last monday to arrive on the exchanges. I think we will be in for a busy week.

Dont forget that many Asian countries pay a 13th salary in either December or January, so effectively they will have double money.
Singapore mostly pays it's extra pay-packet in December, but some companies pay for Chinese New year.

This may or may not have an impact….hence posting it in Speculation.
