Perhaps you did not read the agreement on the  sign-up page  but it says  new users cannot post Anywhere but in the newbie forum and may not send private messages until you have at least one post. Now that you have made this post you should be able to send a PM(And now me, yay!). You can read the full policy here-->https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177133.0.
Cheers!

It's to stop spammers from posting etc. I know, it does suck Tongue

I think you have to have 6 or 10 posts to be able to message and post on other forums besides this one.

newbie restrictions sucked but they get lifted easy enough

u just got to keep on joining discussions and reading and learning - it actually helped me get out there and start reading more and more about bitcoins and the community and everything so i appreciated them

now if only i could get this pesky 360 second timer removed teehee  Kiss

Looks like it's the newbie restrictions. I think you need to make 1 post to be able to PM. Cheers!

Yes great to see such a good bit coin community here even in the newbie section. This is what the community must have been like back in the real early days. They must have been discussing things like ... I'll buy you a pizza for 10,000 bitcoins... Ok deal!

These days in the main forum it seems to be getting so cut throat, perhaps it's better to stay in the newbie section.
