Hi all,

Wondering everyone's opinion is of PrimeCoin? I've been mining them now for a while as I don't have the best hardware for BTC or LTC mining but do have a reasonable CPU and access to some relatively fast servers. I like that the result of mining actually yields something useful but still believe there is still more gains to be made by crypto currencies in this area (i.e. CureCoin)

I cannot decide whether this coin will stand the test of time and become a more established/well known cryto currency but interested to hear the thoughts/opinions of fellow bitcoin members...

It has succeed better than most new alt-coins. I don't think it will have any real future though.

I think the price of a primecoin might increase for a little bit more but it will die down soon
It most likely wouldn't last

Primecoin's price is riding on its innovative algorithm, but I think that as soon as a new coin comes into scene with a more interesting algo it will lose steam.

Correct me if I'm wrong but as it's still really only CPU, its possible to mine it while mining another coin, if they ever get a GPU miner working I think its price will dive.

That's correct.

I think primecoin is maybe the best concept out there.

Once upon a time, gold was thought to be a great indicator of an economy, because the supplies were supposed to be infinite, while increases in the technological prowess of an economy would be reflected in its ability to mine gold.  e.g. Gold production would keep up with the rest of the goods and services produced in an economy.

Primecoin is close to this, if we think that excess computing capacity is a good indication of a networked technological economy, primecoin becomes more difficult in terms of the original hardware used to mine it, but should keep step with the economy as a whole, if computing capacity is an indication.  So I think it's pretty interesting.

I think it would be ideal for an invest for a short period of time to hopefully make a profit but I don't think it has any future
