But I'd estimate the cost at no more than $150,000. This is affecting many of the other stats (operating profit).

Why the gross discrepancy? Do they want to discourage people from mining?

It's a holdover from the GPU mining days. The electricity consumption of 650W per GH/s and equipment cost of $1,000 per GH/s are based on GPU mining costs.

They really should update this to reflect typical ASIC values.

They are too lazy to change the graph , or rather to delete it.
Anyhow the cost are average , nobody knows how efficient , how many and at what electricity cost the new asics run.

There is so much difference between the new miners like knc and the old ones it'a  a pain in the ass to calculate this.
