Peercoin has potential, but is still far far behind Bitcoin in regards to the size of the network. It has some innovative features but is nowhere near the same scale as Bitcoin at the moment. Save a catastrophic failure, I don't see any alternate cryptocurrency overtaking Bitcoin.
